Wednesday, July 12, 1978

A 35 cm. cut was begun in F/52-54 and continued at the same level (c. 1 m. below ground level) through H. A layer of stone was contacted below the sandy soil, intermingled with a few tile fragments.  Numerous small lumps of bronze were found near the botoom of the cut across the trench.  A heavy concentration of carbon appears on the floor level in H/52. FIve cassetti of tile dumped.
