Photos taken ( Photo )

Took a 10 cm. cut through Y-Z/16-17.  The soil was yellowish brown thoughout although traces of the dark brown carbon-plaster inclusion soil appeared along the west edge.  These same meters were then cut down another 15 cm. approximately, to a level of 170 cm. b.d. with the exception of Z/16.  The soil continued to be yellowish brown, with traces of the darker soil appearing in the south-west cornert of Y/16.  This area produced 1/2 latte box of pottery and bone fragments, plus one large coarseware rim, and 2 small fragments of tile with 6-8 small pieces of plaster.

Meters 15-16 are reather uneven and rough due to the appearance of the darker brown soil with plaster and carbon which is currently being left, in order to excavate it at one time.

Began trimming baulk in Y-Z/16-18.  This produced 6 fragments of pottery and bone and 2 fragments of cover tile, as well as 3 small, amorphous pieces of bronze.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
