Darker soil similar to CB 57 was found during the pick pass in the western half the 50-51 meter. A pick pass was done in the eastern half of the 50-51 meter to see if the darker soil extends. The soil in the eastern half of the 50-51 meter is still yellowish. A piece of iron was found in the terracotta bowl used for sorting the pick passes in the northern half of the trench (Special Find #3). The iron might be a piece of iron slag. A cavetto fragment was found while trimming back the stump in the western baulk.
