This morning we completed two pick passes of trench. Two sherds of pottery and roughly one-third bowl of tile was recovered. A large number of small stones and roots were present in the soil. The soil colour is becoming progressively lighter to a medium-dark brown. One of the stumps near the southern boundary was removed.

Work continued cleaning and tidying the trench.

Excavation continued in the afternoon. Soil became finer and medium brown on colour across the trench. Following two pick passes and owing to this different soil it was decided to declare a new locus.
The soil in Locus 2 is fine with small rocks and roots. It has a medium brown colour. Opening photos were taken and elevations were taken also.
