Trimmed the south baulk in Z/13-14, producing 1/5 latte box of pottery and bone. This work helped to further define the possible gelestra-cut fossa which was noted previously ( p. 143 ). The floor in this area was also leveled out to approximately {information not provided} cm, the depth at which it will be left.
A roughly 15 cm cut was taken in Y-Z/18, lowering the area to ~280 cm. The soil was dark brown iwth a high planter content giving it a reddish tint. This work produced a large amount of material: 1 1/2 cassetti of plaster and tile fragments, 16 1/2 latte boxes of pottery and bone, and 10-15 fragments of pithos.
