Daily Log

July 24, 1987

Work continued in clearing down to floor level in LM/78-81.  A heavy concentration of tile and plaster continues to be found, some of it burned, or partially burned.  Very fragmentary pieces of ivory were found in L/81 along with a bronze bead.  In L/80-81 3 pieces of terra cotta waster were lifted, complete with finger and thumb marks.

Two unidentifiable pieces of terra cotta were also found, one of which may be part of a statue fragment.  Pottery finds were abundant and representative: bucchero, impasto, fine ware; bone was also prevalent, expecially in L/78.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
