Daily Log

July 27, 1968

A large section of a cover tile was found in the southern end of the trench, but otherwise tiles were scarce.  More stone appeared on either side of the wall, on a lower level, in the northern end; as digging became more and more restricted to the southern end, the trench began to take on the expected downward slope toward the level of 6A, though no stratum lines could be seen in the profiles as yet.

TI, Test Trench 8

Cleaning at the western end of the trench produced a wall across and running north-south.  As before, it seemed to be connected with the level under the pavement

in IU, though nothing was found to prove this.

TI, Test Trench 9

The stones were cleaned.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
