The second 10cm cut begun yesterday in meters A-C/1 was extended north into meters A-C/2-3 to a depth of ca. 20cm. The soil in the trench remained dark brown in color and contained a large number of small rocks and roots. One quarter of a cassetta of small pieces of worn tile and one quarter of a box of weathered impasto pottery were discovered in the cut.
A third 10cm. cut was then begun in meters A-C/1 and A/2 to a dpeth of ca. 30-35 cm. Up until a depth of ca. 27cm the soil in the trench reamined dark brown in color and contained a large amount of small rocks and roots. One half cassetta of small pieces of worn tile and one
half a box of worn impasto sherds were discoverd. In addition, small concentrations of carbonized wood appeared sporadically throughout the cut. At a depth of ca. 27 cm the soil became light brown in color. This light brown soil was of a very loose consistency and contained no material.

A 10cm cut was taken in meters B-C/2 and A-C/1-3 extending the depth of the trench in these areas to 20-30cm. The soil in meters A/2-3 remained dark brown in color and contained some small rocks. One quarter of a cassetta of small pieces of worn tile and half a box of worn impasto sherds were discovered in the dark brown soil. The soil in meters B-C/2-3 was light brown in color and of a very loose consistency. No material was recovered from the light brown soil.
