A second course was removed; irregular patterns of large

stones began to appear, but tiles were scanty.  A box and a half were dumped.  For finds, see p. 251 .

Tesoro I, Test Trench 8

A test trench 75 cm wide was begun along the south wall of the large building, starting 11.40 m east of the southwest return and continuing down to it.  The purpose was to establish whether there were post-holes on the outside of the wall which could support a colonnade.

At 10.40 m east of the return and [no information given] below the top of the wall, a roughly semicircular formation of stones set against was found; diameter was 55 cm.  Further excavation west produced only a smaller, irregular formation at 8.00 m E and a large rock at 4.70 m E.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
