Daily Log

July 12, 1994

The floor and baulks of the area of the trench were straightened and a new cut was begun to an average depth of 80 cm.  Soil remains medium brown but carbon is found in higher concentrations.

Tile is frequent, as is pottery, although the cut is not completed across all of L-M/71-76.  A large fragment of a forno was found in this cut along with a large bronze pin. Small stones are present in the soil, but are infrequent.  Amounts of tile and pottery will be recorded when the cut is complete.  Sporadic, small pieces of bronze were also present.
