In order to clarify the startigraphy of T21 west baulk 1m wide trench was established immediately east of the baulk. The trench will be excavated to the level of sterile soil.

Area limited by the south flank of the upper building on teh norht and by bedrock on the south, meters S 35.3-36.8, E 152.9-153.5 (old grid 30 A-B), was designated locus 6. Approximately 10cm cut was made to reach sterile soil, which was yellowish in color.

Two full latte boxes of pottery and bone and 70 tile fragments

(1-10cm) were recovered from locus 6. Both pottery and tile were in better preservation state than those recovered in baulk trim. 30 bone fragments, 3 coarseware (1 rim and 1 handle base), 70 redware (1handle, 3 rims), 180 impasto (on complete handle, several rims and bases) and 5 bucchero fragments were found. Also 2 spindle whorls (impasto) and a large fragment of architectural terracotta, porbably a statue strut were recovered. Few plaster pieces were found.

Portioni of trench in meteres S 38.5 40.1 , E 151.8-152-4, was

designated locus 7. It was excavated to the same level as locus 6. Soil was sterile execept for the 2-3cm on the top. 0.25 cassetta (115 pieces 1-7cm) of tile fragments, and 2/3 of latte cartons of bone and pottery were recovered. 10 bone fragments, 30 redware, 1 buccherro, and 90 impasto fragments were found. Alos another spindle whorl was found.
