August 5, 1997
Work continued in Locus 29, removing it from the area and exposing a yellowish soil beneath. The ground level in this area slopes downward to the west so that the closing depth of Locus 29 is 82 cm b.d. in the east and 91 cm b.d. in the west. In the southwest corner of the locus, one large stone and several smaller ones were revealed. It is not certain if they are associated with the orientalizing or archaic walls in this area.
Locus 29 produced 1/2 of a latte of pottery and bone, and 4-6 very small fragments of tile and terracotta.
Work in SF will be suspended until the following season.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
