A.M.

A test trench denominated CA32 was marked out on a north-south axis with the aid of a compass.  The trench is located ca. 10 meters north of the road to Piano del Tesoro and ca. 20 meters west of trench CA19.  A topsoil cut was begun in meters A-D/1-2 to a depth of ca. 10cm.  The soil was dark brown in color and contained a large amount of roots and small rocks.  One quarter cassetta of worn tile was discovered in the cut.

Note: The dimensions of the trench are 4x6.

This afternoon the topsoil cut begun this morning was extended west into meters A-D/3-4 to a depth of ca. 10 cm.  The soil was dark brown in color and contained a large amount of roots and small rocks.  One quarter of a cassetta of worn tile and a few fragments of coarse pottery were removed from the cut.
