Workers continued with trowels and a seive in meters EE-HH/13 at a depth of c. 40 cms.  The soil in GG/13 is darker red and contains more tile than the soil in EE/13 and HH/13.  It also contains more burned plaster.  GG/13 produced a few fragments of worked ivory this

morning.  Most notable is a large ivory triangle.  EE/13 and HH/13 produced no ivory.

While work continued in meters EE-HH/13, a new cut of approximately 20 cms in depth was started in meter HH-15.  This meter, with a new floor level of approximately 60 cms in depth, immediately produced ivory and bronze slag.  Several incised ivory insets were found in HH-15.

Pottery continues to be scarce - a red-ware base is the only notable find.

P.M.

Work continued in the new cut of 60 cms in depth in meter HH-15.  Excavation produced sporadic ivory finds and some bronze slag - also found were two bornze tack (one with a small flat head and one with a large flat head).

At the same time, work began at a depth of c. 60 cms in meter GG-13.  This area produced some pottery - most notable are four base fragments and two belly fragments from the large course ware vessel which was found on July 19 ( p. 71; #12 )
