Digging and lifting of stones outside the building was continued and digging within the building began. In L6, just inside the eastern wall, a fragment of a griffin's head with beak, horn, and right eye was found. This later joined with the head-and-curls fragments found the day before outside the same wall. In N6 at the same time, a section of ridgepole tile (?) with a lion's paw on it (cf. 19660215
Horse race frieze continued to be found, though in lesser density, as the stones were lifted. Another sima head was found and tiles became heavier as the trench was taken down - over 30 boxes were sorted and dumped.
