Daily Log

June 20, 1988

Topsoil cut continued into meter 7 on E which was staked out on 17 June.  After W end at m.7, the ground slopes rapidly down ~10 cm.  There is no obvious reason (i.e. rocks, roots) for this in soil.

1/4 cassetta of tile, worn; 1 handle frag.

4 worn pieces of pottery, mainly coarseware

Tile regions in A/5, B-C/6, A-B76 cleared further to discover if a large tile fall or simply tile dump is present.  1 impasto handle frag.

Note: Work was stopped in this trench, CA32, at ~ 9:15 a.m. to move to work on Eastern plateau, know as ET-1.  This book will therefore contain notes on trench CA32 but from non-consecutive dates.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
