AM

Work began this afternoon with a trench clean-up. The floor was scraped to an even level of 40cm below datum. This clean up produced 24 pottery pieces. The soil remains to be medium brown.

Meters ABC/1 have been shut down. The depth in these meters is 40cm below datum. They are being shut down because galestra is present throughout. A linear row of rocks is present B/1 and extends east to B/2. Work will continue in meters ABC/2,3,4.

Initiated a 10cm cut in meters ABC/2,3,4 to bring the trench floor down to 50cm below datum.

PM

Completed the 10cm cut that we began this morning. The soil remained a consistant medium brown in color. Traces of galestra are present in meters ABC/1. Materials recovered this cut include 1/3 of a latte box of pottery and 8 tile fragments. A spindle whorl fragment was also recovered and made a find.
