Baulk cleaning and floor leveling in H-I/41 (and eastern portion of H-I/40) yielded about 20 pieces of tile, 1/5 latte box of pottery and bone, a few small flakes of bronze, a piece of pan tile with an unusual flange (find #2), a possible fragments of cavetto (find #3), and a possible statue fragment (find #4).

Continued work in H-I/53 removing the baulk in order to complete the section drawing of T-22 west extention south baulk.  All depths were taken from the top of the south baulk.  Removed a tree in the eastern part of the baulk, the roots of which ran throughout the baulk.  Removed the top 70cm of soil producing 1 cassetta of tile fragments and 1 full latte box of pottery and bone fragments.  Also found the head of a rochetto (#1).  Continued work from 70cm to approximately 115 cm, producing 1/4 cassetta of tile fragments and 1 1/2 latte boxes of pottery and bone fragments.  A fragment of painted creamware (#5) and a fragment of terracotta with a molded ridge (#6) were found.  At approximately 100-105cm began picking up traces of a heavy burn layer, a dark brown soil with inclusions of carbon, with frequent small rocks - about fist size:

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
