A.M.

We began by trimming the baulk walls with baulk hammers and trowels.  Two finds were unearthed during this process: an amorphous lump of bronze ( Find #1) and a fragment of creamware with traces of paint ( Find #2 ).  We then levelled the floor.  Baulk trim totals for terracotta and pottery were:

1 cassetta of tile

1/2 latte box of pottery

We completed a pick pass through a 1/3 of the trench, shoveling and sifting into the wheelbarrow.  Two more finds were uncovered: a bucchero tondo ( Find #3 ) and another piece of creamware with traces of paint ( Find #4 ).

We re-picked that area to even out the floor.  Sorted/sifted dirt into wheelbarrow.  The workday ended early at 3 p.m. for a lecture at the museum.  Closing elevations were:
