Clearning continued in meters K/14 and the northern half of meters K/13 with mestalina and brush to a dpeth of ca. 105 cm. The soil in the southeast corner of K/13 consisted of both light borwn "near galestra" and true galestra and contained no material. The soil throughout the remainder of the cleared area was dark brown in color and contained a high concentration of carbon, especially in meterK/14. This dark brwn soil also contained several small rocks and some disintegrating plaster. One box of impasto and coarseware, including many burned pieces, one quarter of a box of burned bone and a few pieces of slag and vitrified tile
were discovered in the dark brown soil.
