STRATEGY: Finish removing 2003. Remove tauf derived layer to the south of where f260 was removed as 2004. Remove f269, which may be acting as a reinforcement against the join where f266 and f250 abut on the eastern side of f250. Removed as 2005. Remove f266 as lot 2006.

SUMMARY: Lots 2003 and 2004 removed to form even layer. F269 was removed and revealed clear faces of f250 and f266. This indicated that f269 was built later than walls f250 and f266 as it abutted them. Wall f266 also abuts f250, as demonstrated by the removal of 2000 on 4 Aug 98. F269 could therefore have functioned as a support for the join between walls f266 and f250. On removing f266 as lot 2006 it was found that the edge of wall f250 had been cut into, possibly to ensure that wall f266 could abut against wall f250 with enough stability.
