Daily Log

September 24, 1969

After cleaning the fill from arounf the inner face of the west wall of building B we discovered that a row of stones, running along the inner face of the wall for 3m (SW corner to aboutover half way up the wall) also rest on the burned fill. These stones are part of a later fill. The tiles go under them and against the deeper foundation stones of the wall prper. Therefore they are being removed.

After this, we will procede to dig down to the west, remove the agger stones, and define the outside edge of the wall by finding the deeper foundation stones.

A few pieces of pottery, bucchero and hand made impasto, some from the full inside the building B about 10 more boxes of tiles have been removed.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
