Agger 9

Section A

The agger stones were lifted over

the NS wall and it was completely exposed. To facilitate defining the inner (western) edge of the wall, a narrow strip (1m wide x 2.6m long), beginning 3.7m from the NE corner corner of the room, was dug paralleling the NS wall. Throughout their strip the western edge of the NS wall stones rested directly on large flattish stones (exposed to a width of .35 - .4m) & perhaps going under the NS wall. These larger stones are perhaps part of an earlier wall perhaps found a room bounded on the east by the wall partially expanded in T6C (where outside edge of the NS wall of Ag 9 ext). For the time being both walls will be left as is until the area below the floor level

is explored. 1 box of tiles. The rest of the trench was cleared for photographing.
