It was discovered that bouth of yesterday's cuts Y-Z/13-14, 120-130 cm. and Y-Z/18, 115-125 cm., sloped up towards the north.  So these areas were leveled out before continuing the cuts.

Continued cutting east from Y-Z/14 through Y-Z/15 at 120-130 cm.  The soil was yellowish-brown.  However in the process of leveling poritons of yesterday's cut it was discovered that the dark brown soil with plaster and carbon inclusions in the south part of the cut spread further norht into the Y-meters. 2-1/4 latte boxes of pottery and bone were recovered.  The pottery was mostly coarseware and impasto, but also several fragments of bucchero, many fragments exhibited signs of burning.  Several large fragments of bone were included.  Approximately 1/16 of small fragments of tile and plaster were found.

Completed cut from Y-Z/18 through Y-Z/16, bringing the trench  (meters Y-Z/13-18) down to a single level, approximately 130 cm. b.d.  The soil in this cut was yellowish brown.  It produced 1/2 latte box of pottery and bone mostly coarseware/impasto and a pithos rim frag.  The tow finds from this area were architectural terracottas #1 and #2.
