Daily Log

June 26, 1976

Work continued on cut 2.  What seems to be the southern part of the east wall is coming out in grids M-O 37-38.

To the south of the south wall, in grid I 37-38 is a hard stony pack, very dense and chalky white in texture.  No idea yet what this chalky pack may represent.  Also in grid I 37-38, around the chalk, is dark red earth and burned tile.  The chalk pack does not extend as far as the foundation wall- presumably because the foundation trench was cut into it.

1 casette of tile dumped.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
