A pick pass was done in the eastern half of locus 2 . Soil continues to be a gray-brown granular soil. There are many rocks in the southern half of the pass. Several roots were cut out of the northern half. While sorting most of the tile and pottery was recovered in the northern part of the pass. A few fragments of bone were recovered along with a large knuckle bone (SF #1) and a sheepÂ’s tooth (SF #2)

Another pick pass was done in the eastern meter of the trench. Soil was sorted and roots were defined. Pottery still appears more concentrated in the northern part of the pass. Another pick pass was done in the western half of the trench. The rocks and roots on the southern baulk were defined. Soil was sorted and dumped. We continue to sieve every forth bucket. While sorting a tooth (SF #5) and a joint bone (SF #6) were recovered. We will continue to special find diagnostic bone fragments to help the zooarchaeologist.

The rocks were defined in locus 3 . The soil was baked and crumbles like gravel. While defining rocks close to the western baulk wall, a bronze river (SF #7) was found in two fragments.

While the rocks were being defined in locus 3 , the western baulk wall was being trimmed. The cluster of rock to the north-west seems to be bedrock while the rock to the south in locus 3 seems to be on top of dirt. Further excavation may prove otherwise. Many of the rocks are intertwined with tree roots.
