Grids 1D-F, 2D-F. The rest of the brown earth layer was excavated and earth was removed from between the bedrock. The earth at bedrock level in Grid 1D was found to be of a different texture and color. It seemed to be a grayish sediment (perhaps natural soil).
After the bedrock was cleaned, profiles were drawn and the area was photographed. At this point, the trench was extended three meters to the north. This area covers Grids 1A-C, 2A-C, 3A-C and 4A-C.
Work continued until most of the stony soil stratum was cleaned from Extension II ( see p. 14 ).
At this point, the east wall was cleared down. It would seem that at the base, this wall (foundation) either extends inwards or else caved in since stones presumably from this wall extend well into Grids 1A-F.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
