STRATEGY: Continue clearing lot 878. Define edges if in existence above f250. Define pit (?) in western baulk and ashy (?) area in southwest corner.
SUMMARY: A great deal of plaster appears associated with the area to the south of f250. An edge of tauf/plaster superstructure seems to be emerging. The pit (?) from Jul 26th, which runs into the western section appears more like a wall and is associated with a compacted burnt area sloping towards the south. On first exposure this compacted area is black, but soon fades on drying. Some drying cracks made in antiquity appear to exist on this surface. In the far southwestern corner the ashy area seems to be a firmly packed tauf wall using a greyish tauf (ash added?). Its edge is disturbed by animal burrows.
