Excavation continued in Agger 10.  Two men continued digging in grids K and N 4-2 and then proceeded to dig at the same level in the middle of the trench, ie: grids L-M 4-8.  Meanwhile the other workmen dug in grids K-N 1-2 directly to the east of the line formed by the fossa stones (see plan p. 70 ).  It was found that these rocks extend to a depth of at least 80 cm. sloping very slightly to the east.  It was also discussed that the Agger rocks also form a N-S line between grids 2+3.  Excavation continued between these two lines, producing more bronze fragments, a few pieces of frieze placque, many coarse pottery shards and a conical bucchero base.

Work continued in the afternoon in Agger 10.  Two workmen finished clearing grids K-N 1-2 between the two N-5 lines of stone to a level appx. 80 cm. be;low the top of the fossa rocks.*  This area continues to produce frieze placque fragments, tile fragments, and coarse shards.  Grid K-2 produced a few pieces of fine painted ware.  Also found here were a lump of iron, much slag and tile fragments covered with slag (?) on one side; also what may be a moved fragment, black on the inside channel and preserving specks of bronze.

Meanwhile the other workmen finished clearing the yellowish soil stratum in grids L-M 4-8 producing tile fragments, coarse ware and a few lumps of bronze, and some pieces of wall plaster.

6 cassetti of tiles - discarded

3 cassetti - coarse ware

3 strawberry cartons - fine ware

1 strawberry carton - bones

*Level at bottom of trench between the two possible wall foundations + 27.96 [cm. I assume - editor's note].  Level at top of fosse (?) rocks - more likely a second wall foundation: +28.89 [cm?]
