Work continued in H-I/ 20-21 at a depth beginning at 98cm. It is clear in the south section that the burn layer slopes from east to west. It was approximatly 5cm deep in H-I but still continues in H-I/20. It wa<s decided to excavate this darker soil in H-I/20 until the next layer is exposed. At approximatly 103cm the density of ceramic material and carbon changed completely, becoming much less. In general, this layer contained coarseware pottery, tile, and bone. The material was most dense near the west baulk.
tile= 1 liter box
pottery= 3 latte boxes
After the burn layer was removed the baulks in H-I/20-22 were trimmed. These were just about complete when work ended for the day.
tile= 1/2 cassetta
pottery=1 1/2 boxes
