STRATEGY: Continue excavation of 1506 and 1507. Clean sections. 1506 excavated in second spit of 5cm today and 1507 in a spit of 3cm. Step 1507 gradually north across the trench to capture the true extent of this lot and to avoid the contamination of accidently excavating 1506 with it (as 1507 is clear in section but not so clear to come down onto).

SUMMARY: 1. 1506 includes pot, flint, cone plus some roof tile and grinding stone. Also one sling stone. 2. 1507 includes pot, flint, bone, a sling stone and one small pot small find. The southern section reveals a clear A, B, and B2 horizon of late soil formation (1501-1505). These cover the prehistoric horizon, which is indicated by calcite flecked soil (1507) and is probably A B horizon itself, with lost A A horizon (worn away? Or merged into B horizon?). 3. Cleared south baulk and 1m each of SW abd SE baulks. 4. Rock fan in across trench from S-N (see sketch).
