Completed the last ~20 cm. of yesterday's cut in Y-Z/17.  The soil was consistent with yesterday's and no material was recovered.

A shallow cut was taken in Y-Z/16 to a depth of ~170 cm. b.d.  There is a narrow line of stones along the eastern edge of the cut which will be defined later.  The soil in the cut was yellowish brown on top, in a thin layer, with dark brown soil w/ plaster and carbon beneath.  This produced 3 fragments of tile and 12-15 pieces of plaster, as well as 1/2 latte of pottery and bone, and a few small pieces of bronze.

Continued to level the area of Y-Z/13-14 at roughly 160 cm. b.d., in order to define the area of plaster concentration, which seems to run around the north side of the rock concentration in Z/13-14.  The soil in either side of the plaster concentration is dark brown-grey w/ carbon? most of the material comes from this soil, and almost none from the plaster area.  This work produced 1 latte box of pottery and bone, and 4 handfuls of plaster.

In Y-Z/17-18 two cuts were made bringing the floor level to ~190 cm. b.d.  The soil was yellow

brown throughout, still w/ occasional flecks of carbon and even occasional pockets of burnt, decayed plaster.  No traces of the burn layer were found although it can be seen dropping into the area in the northern baulk of Y/18.  8 fragments of pottery and one of bone were recovered with about 10 pieces of plaster and one pan tile flange which was found at the bottom of the cut.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
