STRATEGY: Define edge of hard grey tauf derived deposit in the southwest corner of trench 446N, 596E and its relationship to f262. Remove remainder of 903 to (?) surface related to row of stones in the east of the working area.

SUMMARY: On removal of 915 the wall face of f263 emerged and it became apparent that the interleaved lots 903 and 904 ran underneath 915 to abut f263. It is possible 903 and 904 are formed by slopewash of pise, silt and wall plaster, which overlie and were overlain by surface f262. Collapse from wall f263 post dated the slopewash deposition hence 915 overlies 903 and 904. A hard surface appeared to underlie 903 in the southeastern corner of the trench and form the surface on which the lines of stones were situated. 903 was therefore excavated further back towards the north in the hope of tying features such as f262 with features such as f250 or f260.
