The cut started yesterday (P-R 65-71), still basically topsoil, was finished. depth app. 0.20m. A few tiles (1/3 casetta), a few pithos fragments, and a few pottery fragments (1/3 box), were found. The next cut (yellowish grey) was begun.


The first cut into the yellowish-grey stratum was completed and another begun. This stratum seems to be disturbed (1 fragment of glazed medieval pottery was found - app. depth 0.30m(. In Q 65 part of a square flat cut rock (depth 0.25m) was found.

A large number of rather big rocks, randomlz spaced, in meters R-Q 65-66 were removed. 1 casetta of tile, a few fragments of plaster, and 2/3 box of pottery were found. The stump in R 67-68 continued to be cleaned. Several fragments of tile, plaster and 1/6 bov of pottery were found.
