August 2, 1967

Cleaning of the bottom of the strip outside the wall produced several more small fragments of bucchero and some unusually well-preserved teeth. The line of stones was further cleaned and found to extend across to the point where the second stone cluster stopped the cut.

Cleaning of the western half was completed, but excavation of the eastern half down to the 40 cm still failed to produce more than a few scattered tiles.

The trench was taken down so as to define the wall which combines the northern and the southern wall. Tiles appeared in great number along the wall, 9 boxes.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
