The eastern third of the trench was picked to reveal more of the patches of bluish soil, since a lot of the olive still remains in the trench. More bluish soil is coming up in the southern part of the pass, but it eludes us in the northern part. The pick pass was then leveled and rocks defined. Less terracotta was recovered than on previous days passes. A pick pass was done in the western third of the trench. The soil here remains an olive color. While picking a piece of terracotta with impression was recovered (SF#1). Soil was shoveled into buckets and sorted in the wheelbarrow. The remaining half of the stump was removed from the trench, this are is much higher due to the roots and is being picked to level it with the rest of the trench. While the stump area is being picked the middle third of the trench was picked. While picking a piece of ridge pole tile was found (SF #2). The soil was shoveled into buckets and sorted at the wheelbarrow. An unusual piece of terracotta was found while sorting (SF #3).

Another pick pass was started in the western third of the trench. The soil remains olive here and terracotta and pottery is still being found. An unusual piece of terracotta was found (SF#4). The western baulk was trimmed. While cleaning up the soil a frieze plaque fragment was recovered (SF #5). The middle third of the trench was picked, the soil remains olive. Terracotta and pottery is still being found. The northern part of the eastern third was picked. Throughout the trench the soil remains olive, except in the south eastern corner where the bluish soil was uncovered. In the last two
pick passes over the entire trench more rocks were uncovered. These are being defined, but they are randomly scattered throughout the trench and some are fully surrounded by the olive soil. There are several large piece of terracotta found in the pick passes, but again they are randomly scattered.
