The last of locus 2 was cleared from meters 28-29.5 S, 167-169 E. Below this locus, a hard-packed floor with fragments of pottery resting on it was uncovered. Some of the pottery sherds were left in situ for photography. The baulks were cleaned. In all, Locus 2 yielded five pottery sherds, mostly dark impasto. Work in Locus 3 was continued in meters 34-36 S, 171-173 E. Work was slowed when what appears to be a 7th century destruction fill came to light. It will be cleaned and photographed during the next few days of work. Locus 3 yielded two latte boxes of pottery and bone.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
