A 15 cm. Cut is taken into the soil immediately below the tile fall layer in the trench revealing a distinctive burn layer. The soil is dark brown in color and contains numerous flecks of carbon. A provile of a cup with incised X on the base is removed from the surface of the burn layer in delta/22.
The furn layer lies at a depth of 70 cm. below the original topsoil level in the zeta grids and 85 cm. in the beta grids. 6 boxes of pottery a mixture of both coarse and fine sherds are recovered from the epsilon-zeta/21-22 grids alone.
