Civitate B15D

The trench was taken down 0.30-0.35m to galestra.  Only fine, very worn, surface tiles were found.

Civitate B16A

To connect up both series of trenches on Civitate B, a trench 0.60 X 17.50m, on the same E-W exis, was taken down 0.35m to galestra on bedrock.  The surface layer of soil in the eastern half of the trench contained carbon deposits

for a depth of 0.15m.  Found: about 5 worn, surface tiles and 4 fragments of an impasto vase.

Civitate B16B

About four meters to the south of B16A, in a trench on the same E-W axis, 0.60 X 12.50m, the topsoil was removed.  3 pieces of surface tile.
