1987 season goals:
We want to extend T26 further to the north and to the north west of the south-east building. This will help clarify how the roof of the south-east building collasped. We also are looking for further evidence of the lateral sima, especially the female heads which were attached to the buildings' cover tiles.
Although many examples of complete and fragmented lions heads were found in excavating the area of the south-east building corresponding to points M-Q/77-89, very few examples of female heads which served as back covers to cover tiles were found (see, , and ).
We also want to see if we can find evidence of a drain system, such as a dip in the floor level to the north of the southeast building. It may be located near the tile falls. (KO/71-81).
Careful attention will also be paid to artifact position and stratigraphy. Depths will be calculated from ground (topsoil) level in centimeters. A stratigraphic map will be made after a 1 meter cut in the surface is completed.
Note: Cassette of tile, boxes of pottery, and bone will be counted as follows: 1=I, 2=II, 3=III, 4=IIII, etc.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
