Description Locus 1 was the entirety of the trench. Locus 1 is a modern construction fill from when the tennis courts were built. It is a hard-packed, rocky layer with pockets of greenish and bluish clay interspersed. There was some modern and ancient terracotta found, but the whole locus is of a disturbed, mixed context. Locus 1 overlay Locus 2 and is the same as Locus 1 in both VT-12 and VT-13.
