Description Locus 12 consists of the soil found within the north semicircular niche. This soil, with Munsell 10 YR 5/4 (yellowish brown), is a loose sandy silt with significant inclusions of ash and burnt residue, pottery, stones, and bones. It seems that this deposit is a result of dumping and destruction. It is below the main collapse level, and there is no obvious change in the soil from that locus to this, beyond the physical division of the niche and its threshold. With the disuse and collapse of this space, the hole of the niche likely filled in, being fully filled when the main collapse occurred.
Top (m) Opening elevation: 900.10 m.
