| Description | This sandstone floor is uneven, patchy, broken and has been though multiple reuses of burning. There are at least three levels of floor. At the bottom is an irregular rough unhewn course, in the middle are unhewn pavement stones and at the top are round hypocaust tile fragments intermixed with mortar and stones. The upper floor is set to slope towards the middle of the chamber. The bath system seems to have been planned as a single unit and it appears that it is on the same axis of orientation as the Great Temple, northwest to southeast. This locus along with others of the bath complex appears to be self-contained elements in an overall design that physically distinguish different areas of the baths. | |
