Description Locus 2 lies below Locus 1 and abuts Locus 3. Locus 4 lies directly below Locus 2. The soil in Locus 2 is brown, dense, and clay-like, with shell fragments and charcoal present. The brown soil was modeled with blue with inclusions of small stones. Materials recovered from the soil include terracotta tiles and plaster with coarse and fine fabrics. Modern materials were also found within the Locus, such as plastic. A large stone [circa 50 x 30 cm] was present in the northeastern baulk wall. Approximately 5 bowls of tile and nearly 200 sherds of pottery were recovered from the Locus. The ceramic was a mixture of impasto, coarsewares, and finewares, including black gloss. One ceramic sherd with red-slip was found.
