Morning

Continued removal of the wheelbarrow dump yields little pottery and tile, but two bronze fragments, seemingly slag.

Also, we reclean the tile fall in AG-X for final drawing by the architect.

We next initiate the new trench T25 in Grids 13-15Z This Cut 1 is 15-20cm deep. The earth is dark brown and clayey in sharp contrast the variegated soils of the dump above. Here we find a midest quantity of pottery (1+ carton) and tile (ca. 1 box). We end in quadrent delta, where we appear indeed to have found a continuation of the south wall in R22.

Meanwhile further picking and frequently seiving in AG-X, where we trim away the rest of Cut 4 in quadrents BB-CC 0-Z and AA-CC 2-gamma, adds to our collection of carbonized seeds (#1) as the area west of our wall in BB-CC continues to bear seeds at a steady, modest rate. We single out the unusual #2 and the "pip" #5. The seedless soil east of the wall is still dark brown with some pink and red matter and charcoal, but in less quantity and with a differnt texture, now soft and very fine, crumbling into powder. Pottery is less frequent but seems finer. #6 seems to be an exceptional find, probably coming from east of the stones.
