Thirty-one boxes of the tile dumped today. What has been labelled as stratum B2 is now apparent as a capping from the bedrock in grids N & O to the early seal discussed yesterday. This strata is simply a mixture of clay and earth and rises at approx. 20 degree angle, set underneath the later stone capping which comprises stratum B1 [see profile of civitate, 2G-2I, 1968].
A new trench was worked off on the N. side of the dump. To be labelled 2J with grids 11-15 and P-Z, AA-CC. 5mX15m. Ground was broken late in the morning.
