Completed work in meters H-I/42-43, bringing the floor of this area down to the level of the rest of H-I/44-48, about 85 cm below surface. Soil remained dark brown and sandy with frequent inclusions of carbon and plaster. Very little pottery or bone was removed. 1/8 cassette of tile was excavated, as well as approximately a dozen flakes of bronze, including one large flake (find #2). A piece of copper ore was also found in this area (find #1).

After this area was leveled, it was decided to remove the large stones in H-I/43, as they appeared to be an isolated grouping. The soil under the stones was the same as that noted above, and produced 1/8 cassette of tile and numerous bronze flakes, but very little pottery.
A new cut was begun in H-I/48. In the process of excavating this level to approx. 95 cm a concentration of stones was noted along the western edge of H-I/48. Work began with mestis to define these stones, which will be left in situ for the time being. Among these stones a large, amorphous piece of bronze was found and removed (find #4). One large box of pottery and bone and \xbc cassette of tile were removed from this area. A statue fragment (find #3) also came from this area.
After the stone concentration in H-I/48 was discovered, a new cut was begun in H-I/45. Work in this cut will proceed to the east in hopes of defining the western edge of the stone concentration.

Continued troweling in H-I/47-48, defining around rock formation. Soil just above was slightly yellowish and sandy with evidence of burn layer throughout the formation at the same level about 90-95 cm.
Continued cut in H-I/45 moving west to H-I/44 at an approx. Depth of 85-95 cm. Encountered another possible stone formation running north-south. Only a few pieces of pottery and a few small pieces of tile removed, a couple vitrified. Discovered find #5, an unusual piece of pottery, possibly coil-made, in these meters.
Began picking in H-I/42 down to ~90 cm, with lots of plaster and carbon inclusions. Recovered 1/8 cassetta of tile, a few pieces of pottery, and approx. 20 small pieces of bronze which were found primarily near the west wall. Among these was a larger lump of amorphous bronze, find #6.
