The remainder of agger 8 has been excavated. As expected the western wall of the complex appeared directly in line with the wall followed in 6 + 7. One part,

the NW angle of the complex, is not being cleaned this year. However, a cut parallel to the north wall of the complex was dug through the agger. No wall appeared. This will be tested further next year inorder to be absolutely certain that rooms similar to those at the E of the complex were not present. The sherds, under the level of the wall foundations, seem distinctly earlier.Therefore we did not dig deeper. Are they prehistoric?
While cleaning aroung the NW corner (exterior) a group of unusual TC frags appeared. There are just on the above mentioned sherds, and to the west. At least part of one seated statue is involved. They have been boxed for cleaning and restoration mext summer. There may be a small wall, denied above, after all. No plans are necessary
because they will be on Linden's master drawing.

Finally, while martino was cleaning the wall surface next to the eastern dike left at the NW corner of the complex a sherd, possibly from an Attic little master cup, turned up. This sherd rested within 0.05cm of the inner wall foundation, on the floor level of the room. (This floor level was established by observing the level of tiles and also because the soil becomes noticeably harder and burned. If the sherd forms part of the agger fill, which it may, it is less helpful for a precise date. If it was dropped when the building was in use, the date is much more significant.
