AM

Trowled around the rocks of Locus 2 across the entire trench in order to better understand their configuration. Various terracotta and pottery was revealed, as well as some plaster, including a somewhat larger chunk from the south east corner of the trench. Pick passed in the 222-223E, 55-56S meters of the extension through the humus and topsoil of Locus 1. Rocks, which seem to be in line with the rock packing have peaked through the topsoil layer. The soil continues to be very rooty with smaller rocks mixed in.

PM

Continued defining the rocks, which seem to be in line with the rock packing. Larger and less worn pieces of terracotta have appeared in the western area of the trench near where the large quantity of tile was previously found in the area. Three finds were made while clearing down Locus 1; two small pieces of bronze (Find 1), an Iron Tack (Find 2) and a cover tile with a full width (Find 3). Closing elevations were taken for the extension.
