Work continued in Trench 18, the north extension. In the morning, two men continued to take down the dike in grids J-M/30. From the topsoil and brown soil stratum came 1/4 cassette of coasre pottery and 1 cassette of tiles discarded. In the yellow soil stratum in grids L/30, a complete pithos rim (23 cm in diameter) and part of the pithos wall were found. The lower half of the yellow stratum produced bucchero fragments and a rectangular piece of iron (1/4 cassette of pottery).
In the afternoon, excavation began in the red soil stratum: Grids J-K/30 produced 1/4 cassette of reddish-orangeware: Grid L/30 (N-S dike) produced 1/4 cassette of reddish-orangeware including modeled handleds, the rim of a bean plate, a volate handle (?), and the top part of a winged figure.
